Reports to: Head of Finance

BCRS is an important environmental initiative which reduces waste to landfill and improves rates of recycling and re-use, making producers and consumers jointly responsible for the recycling of beverage container waste, towards a higher national effort in recycling and litter reduction.

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and statutory financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements. 
• Supervise and support accounting staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting tasks. 
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. 
• Maintained accounting systems and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring proper, complete, and accurate record-keeping of company transactions in line with international financial reporting standards (IFRS). 
• Provide expert guidance and direction to team members to ensure timely and accurate work.
• Manage and optimize the company’s debt collection process. 
• Oversee the end-of-year statutory audit process in collaboration with the Head of Finance.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations. 
• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures. 
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning. 
• Take on additional responsibilities within the department as needed. 
• Provide assistance to the Head of Finance with any ad hoc tasks or special projects as required. 

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting position. 
• Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively across departments.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks. 
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
• In the process of obtaining an ACCA qualification or equivalent.
• Strong skills in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis. 
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI will be considered an asset.
