Reports to:  Plant Shift Leader

The Beverage Container Refund Scheme in Malta is an important environmental initiative which reduces waste to landfill and improve rates of recycling and re-use, making producers and consumers jointly responsible for the recycling of beverage container waste, towards a higher national effort in recycling and litter reduction.

Objectives for the role:

• Promote a safe and healthy work environment by following all Company safety policies and procedures 
• To work in a production process to separate and convert container beverage waste into baled waste – which includes loading and unloading of waste materials
• Cleaning of the machinery, equipment, shop floor of the factory including the outside surrounding environment
• Performing routine cleaning and autonomous maintenance tasks on machines to uphold their reliability daily. 
• Assist the line technicians in the Preventive Maintenance Schedule
• Undertaking any additional responsibilities as delegated by the shift leaders
• Regularly updating production records to reflect quantities produced
• Conducting training sessions for new process operatives/assistants to ensure safe and efficient work practices. 
• Offering guidance and assistance to fellow team members operating the machines. 

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Good oral and written communication skills in Maltese and/or English
• Willingness to work on shift basis including Saturdays
• Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
• Be positive and reliable
• Have a respectful attitude
