Finance Officer
- Hal Far Industrial Estate, MaltaReports to: Head of Finance
BCRS is an important environmental initiative which reduces waste to landfill and improves rates of recycling and re-use, making producers and consumers jointly responsible for the recycling of beverage container waste, towards a higher national effort in recycling and litter reduction.
We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Accounting and clerical support: Provide essential accounting and clerical support to the Accounting department.
- Data entry: Enter key data for financial transactions, including sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and any other general entries.
- Payment runs: Prepare payment runs for operational and capital expenditure, as well as payment runs for deposits due to multiple vendors, based on monthly aggregation calculations. You will also prepare bank payment files.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile deposits received in the bank account to ensure accurate financial records.
- Customer and vendor management: Maintain and update customer and vendor details as required. Ensure accurate allocation of payments to vendors and customers.
- Account reconciliation: Reconcile and maintain customer accounts, ensuring all transactions are accounted for correctly.
- Discrepancy resolution: Investigate and resolve any payment discrepancies. This may involve communicating directly with customers or vendors via phone or email to address any issues.
- Audit support: Assist in the preparation of documents and reconciliation for the yearly audit, ensuring all financial records are complete and accurate.
- Adhoc tasks: Support the Head of Finance with various adhoc tasks as required.
Requirements
- Education: A’ level in Accounts or MQF level 4 education in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: Previous experience in an accounting environment is essential.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI will be considered an asset.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Personal Traits:
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as being a strong team player.
- Flexible with a practical approach to problem-solving and task management.
