WELCOME to the Newsletter of the Beverage Container Refund Scheme.
This is the first in a series of periodical newsletters that are being sent to Scheme participants so as to provide updates regarding the Beverage Container Refund Scheme.
Over the past months, BCRS Malta Ltd. has been busy laying out the infrastructure for the Scheme, including the building of its Clearing Centre in Hal-Far that shall house the beverage container sorting plant of the whole operation. BCRS Malta has also acted steadfast with the procurement of Reverse Vending Machines, with the manufacturing of the Malta-bound machines already kicked-off.
As one might understand, the BCRS Scheme is also IT intensive, and accordingly the company is currently investing in a system-wide IT infrastructure that shall ensure efficient and secure transactions with its participants and the general public, whilst making the process of such transactions as seamless as possible.
As you are already aware, the Go Live date of the Scheme, and thus the implementation of Malta’s deposit refund scheme, remains the 1st of April 2022.
